Our Services

  • Sleep study

The clinic will arrange for the sleep study, either an In-lab sleep study or home sleep study. The decision will depend on the underlying symptoms. Dr. Velasquez interprets most of the studies hence less delay on the follow-up to discuss the results. The clinic works with different sleep laboratories around the greater Boston area and also in southeastern Massachusetts.

  • CPAP/BIPAP

The clinic will arrange for patients to get the CPAP/BIPAP. The clinic works with different durable medical equipment (DME) companies who supply the CPAP and BIPAP.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (Referral)

The clinic will arrange referrals to therapist specifically trained in cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia.

  • Ear, Nose and Throat Specialist (Referral)

The clinic will arrange for a referral to an ENT specialist if there are risk factors noted during the visit that could affect breathing during sleep. Enlarged tonsils, chronic congestion, narrow airway, and large uvula are some of the causes of abnormal breathing during sleep. These could be assessed and managed by an ENT specialist. The clinic has a great working relationship with different ENT specialists in the greater Boston area.

  • Oral Appliance (Referral)

The clinic will arrange for a referral to a dentist who is trained to make an oral appliance specifically to treat snoring or obstructive sleep apnea. This device is applicable to certain patients who could not tolerate CPAP.

  • Inspire Medical Device

Inspire Medical Device is an implantable device that treats obstructive sleep apnea by stimulating the hypoglossal nerve to keep the airway open during sleep. It is a safe and effective alternative to traditional therapies such as continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and surgery. The clinic has a program to accommodate patients looking specifically for this device.

  • ExciteOSA

The ExciteOSA device is a small, non-invasive device that uses gentle electrical stimulation to treat obstructive sleep apnea. It works by stimulating the muscles in the tongue to prevent them from blocking the airway during sleep. The device is easy to use and has been shown to significantly improve sleep quality and reduce snoring.

  • Telemedicine

A telemedicine visit for our sleep medicine clinic is a virtual appointment where patients can consult with Dr. Velasquez from the comfort of their own home. During the visit, patients can discuss their sleep concerns and symptoms, receive a diagnosis, and develop a personalized treatment plan. Telemedicine visits offer convenience and accessibility to patients who may have difficulty traveling to the clinic. Patients are encouraged to discuss with their insurance regarding their access to telemedicine as well.
